Water Courses Management
Printer-friendly versionThe MRC of Haut-Saint-Laurent is responsible for managing every water courses on its territory.
The MRC evaluates and realises all maintenance work (related to cleaning) and water courses management.
The MRC and local municipalities have come to an agreement stipulating that the municipalities are in charge of removing all obstacles (branches, debris, beaver dam) preventing proper water flow. Also, local municipalities are the entryway for all intervention demands from citizens concerning water courses.
Evidently, the Ministère du développement, de l'environnement et des parcs must approve most work done by the MRC in conformity with the protection of environment quality law.
